Background:
Alcott College Prep High School West Campus was created in 2010 in order to extend the learning opportunities and community of our Elementary School campus and currently serves 300 students in grades nine through twelve.  Qualifications:
     Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, Master's degree preferred
     Current Illinois Professional Educator License or Educator License with Stipulations - Endorsements: Secondary Education (9-12) or Special (K-12 or PK-21)
     Dual Subject Certification preferred (Math and Science preferred)
     At least 2-3 years teaching experience (Chicago Public Schools experience preferred)
     Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements, knowledge of contemporary principles and practices of teaching, classroom and behavior management techniques.
     Proven knowledge and successful integration of CRS and CCSS standards
     Success in using student data from formative classroom and standardized assessments differentiate instruction
     Enthusiasm, flexibility, and the ability to work independently as well as on a team
     Excellent oral and written communication skills along with high energy and willingness to be flexible and creative
     Collaborate with staff to design vertically aligned assessments, strategies, and activities that build upon our AP and democratic mission and vision.
     Collaborate and maintain communication with administration, department team, grade level team, and instructional leadership team.
     Participate actively in school activities; actively engage in developing school culture.
     Evaluate student progress on a continuous basis and provides feedback to students, parents and appropriate staff members.  Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by state law and Board policies.
     Engage parents and community in and outside the classroom; create opportunities for students to engage with adults and students outside of the immediate ACP family.
     Participate in staff development programs, staff meetings and extra-curricular activities.  Attend educational conventions and conferences to learn and discuss new methodologies for teaching. Share new learning and best practices with the staff by leading PD

Elmhurst CUSD#205 seeks a full time Bilingual Spanish Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for its Madison ECE Center at 130 West Madison Street.

Reporting to the Building Principal, the Bilingual Spanish Early Childhood Special Education Teacher is expected to plan and teach a program of instruction appropriate for the age of the learner in accordance with school and District goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Understand and adapt general principles of learning and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the subject matter in planning an instructional program that meets the needs of each student.

8. Demonstrate skill in use of positive reinforcement techniques related to student achievement and behavior. 
9. Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
10. Develop and communicate clear and consistent evaluation procedures that are understood by both students and parents which are in accordance with the District evaluation policy.
11. Demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with immediate supervisors, parents, students, peers, and other school related reference groups.
12. Present a positive school image and realize the importance of establishing good school community relations,
13. Constructively participates with other staff members in determining and achieving school programs, goals, and objectives.
14. Maintain and submit upon request accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
15. Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policy.
16. Provide appropriate supervision and take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
17. Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
18. Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
19. Demonstrate a high quality of ethical behavior and personal conduct.
20. Involvement in professional growth activities through creation of and participation in an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advance coursework at institutions of high learning.
21. Demonstrate a willingness to assume co-curricular and other additional duties related to the teaching profession.

Description: The teacher assistant's primary role is to assist in all aspects of the daily instructional program for special education students. Job Summary: •Assist the teacher in the preparation of materials. •Conduct individual and small group instruction under the direction of the teacher. •Assist in behavior management under the direction of the teacher. •Assist in toileting and feeding under the direction of the teacher. •Participate in team planning meetings, staffing, parent conferences as requested by the teacher. •Participate in in-service programs and professional meetings as requested by the teacher. •Participate in community and vocational instruction within or outside the school facility not to exceed 80% of their working time. •Perform such other duties and services under the supervising teacher's direction as may be related to the smooth functioning of NSSED according to the designated supervisor. •Assist in lifting students who weigh over 50 pounds. •Assist in physical restraint of students for safety of students and others. •Transport students by van or bus in North Shore Academy and ELS Transition Programs as directed (must hold Type B driver’s license). •Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support personnel to improve services for students. •Any significant change of job duties shall be subject to impact bargaining and shall be considered temporary until such bargaining is completed.

Use best practices in the classroom to engage students and drive student achievement
Create and maintain a fair grading system, updating student grades once a week
Monitor attendance, grades and behavior of all students and keep parents updated on student struggles and progress
Participate in required staff meetings:

Eye Level Math and English Instructor Wanted in Palatine


Eye Level (formerly known as E.nopi) Learning Center of Palatine is an after-school learning program designed to help children (3 years to 14 years) master their Math, English, and Critical Thinking skills.

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates for Math and English instructor positions to join our growing center.
 
The above positions involve working with students, primarily in grades preschool to Middle School in small group settings, providing both remediation and enrichment. All teaching materials will be provided. The instructor must be available to work on certain weekdays in the evening and Saturday morning. This is a year round part-time position, including summer.  Long-term commitment of at least one year is a must. This is a part-time, year-round position (8-12 hours/week).


Position Requirements:
  1. Two professional references and resume.
  2. Passion and enthusiasm for education and children.
  3. Able to communicate effectively with students, parents and co-workers.
  4. Should be proactive and able to multitask.
  5. Should be flexible and available to work on evenings and Saturdays.
Preferred Requirements:
