Math Instructors Needed

Mathnasium is the industry leader with over 500 math education centers, providing supplemental math education to children in 2nd through 12th grades. We are looking for passionate instructors that have a strong mathematics background and/or math teaching experience. Our talented instructors experience daily the impact they make. As a part-time Mathnasium Instructor, you will be trained on the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods. You will provide personalized math instruction in any of the following: pre-school math, elementary Math through Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, Statistics and Calculus.

Qualifications:

• Minimum freshman college level mathematics 
• Mathematics competency based on Mathnasium skills assessment 
• Enthusiasm for mathematics 
• Good social and communication skills 
• Willingness to learn the Mathnasium teaching method through on the job training

This is a part-time position varying from about 6 to 25 hours per week, depending on the programs you are able to instruct and your availability. Flexible work hours are in afternoons and evenings (Mon-Thurs: 3pm-8:00pm; Sat: 10am-1pm). Compensation will be based on education and experience.

Master Teacher Job Description
A Great Lakes Academy Master Teacher will be a part of a team of game-changing teachers working to change the face of education on the South Side of Chicago. A Master Teacher takes responsibility for the high academic achievement and character development of every child in his or her classroom. In grades K and 1, teachers co-teach and work collaboratively for student success. In grade 2, there are approximately 22 students per class, and teachers co-plan lessons and curriculum, but teach most of the day solo.

Elementary Teacher Job Description
A Great Lakes Academy Elementary Teacher will be a part of a team of game-changing teachers working to change the face of education on the South Side of Chicago. An Elementary Teacher takes responsibility for the high academic achievement and character development of every child in his or her classroom. In grades K and 1, teachers co-teach and work collaboratively for student success. There is a Master Teacher and a Co-Teacher in each classroom. Master Teachers have a minimum of 2+ years of urban teaching experience.

Job Description
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing the pre-referral and referral processes of special education, as well as overseeing the creation of, and execution of, IEPs and 504s for special needs students. They act as both the Special Education Teacher and Case Manager for the school.

Job Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree is required;
2. At least two years teaching experience in an urban district, private or charter school with demonstrated student achievement.
3. Valid State Certification.

YMCA Seeks Assistant Teacher
