Instructional Leader for Preschool Program

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The instructional leader will support preschool classroom teachers and paraprofessional to refine their skills and improve instructional quality to allow students to meet kindergarten readiness standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•  Identify resources and materials that support instructional quality and integrate them into program practices
• Coordinate teacher training and professional development
• Support teachers to create appropriate lesson plans aligned to the curriculum and developmentally appropriate
• Engage education staff in individual and group reflective coaching to strengthen areas of challenge and build on strengths
• Develop internal systems and procedures that advance instructional quality 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

•  Illinois Professional Educator License – Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in child development or early childhood education is preferred
• Experience as an early childhood educator and experience as a coach or supervisor of educators is desired
