This is a temporary, part-time position available at five different locations in the Chicagoland area.
Job Description: Teaching Assistants work with academically talented students and their instructors to build a comfortable and rigorous learning environment in a gifted education classroom. Pay: $216.00 per course ($12/hr)
Locations: Evanston (NU campus), Palatine (500 N. Benton), Naperville (North Central College), Chicago (751 N. State), and Lake Bluff (350 W. Washington Ave).
Dates: This position requires attendance on six Saturdays, 4/8/17 – 5/13/17 Selected additional Sunday positions may also be available in Evanston.
Times: Courses are held in the mornings (9:00-11:30am) and afternoons (12:00-2:30pm). Work hours are 8:45-11:45am (for morning courses) and 11:45am-2:45pm (for afternoon courses). Teaching assistants may work one or both class times, depending on assignment.

High school diploma, experience working with children/students, and an interest in the field of
education. Teaching assistants must be willing to assist the cooperating teacher as requested, and have
exceptional communication (written and oral) skills. Teaching assistants are often requested to take
anecdotal notes on students, so keen observation skills and a willingness to get to know each student is a
must.
