Amandla Charter Schools has 16-17 vacant positions for 5th-12th grade
teachers in all subject areas. They
are also seeking a maternity leave substitute for 7th grade English
to begin at the end of April. The teacher who fills this position will be
highly considered for all 16-17 vacancies as well.
Seeking qualified and passionate teachers for all open
positions including English, Math, Science, History, Spanish, Arts (visual,
performance, music etc.), Computer Science and Special Education. Amandla teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest
students and families in accomplishing them; create a powerful learning
environment; plan and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction; assess for
mastery and track student progress toward goals; analyze data to intervene and
adjust instruction; and seek excellence as an educator and an Amandla team
member.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-Proven track record of success (as a teacher, in another job, or in
extracurricular activities as a student)
-Experience working with student assessment data, NWEA MAP, PARCC, and/or ACT
data preferred
-Experience managing a classroom using PBIS strategies preferred
-Illinois certification with appropriate endorsements preferred (required for
special education positions)
