Under the direct supervision of the Senior Program Director, the Early Childhood Program Director is responsible for the program development, planning and implementation of the Early Childhood Day Care Center including but not limited to curriculum development, staff recruitment, supervision, promotion, parent-child relationships and budget management related to program area.

Requirements:
Must meet all state licensing requirements, including be 21 years of age and have a Bachelors Degree in Education or related field along with:
60 college credits with 18 credits in early childhood education (ECE) OR
2 years of child development experience and 30 college credits with 10 credits in ECE and proof of enrollment in college until 2 years of college with 18 credits in ECE have been achieved OR
Completion of a credentialing program with 12 college credits in ECE and 2 years of child development experience OR
Completion of a training program accredited by the American Montessori Society or Association Montessori International
2-5 years of previous management experience in a licensed child care facility.

Part Time, Entry Level position
Hourly Rate

The After School Teacher/Group Leader is responsible for implementing program activities and providing direct service to children in a comprehensive school based after school program. The School-Age Worker will work 12-15 hours per week during the school year. Position is contingent upon funding. This is an ideal position for college students pursuing a degree in elementary education.

Essential Responsibilities:
•Planning fun and educational activities to keep children engaged throughout the summer program. Activities can include: trips to nearby attractions, sports, games, food experiences, character-building exercises, music and dance performances, arts and crafts, foreign languages, math or science activities, etc.
•Engaging one on one with children daily about their lives, interests, and experiences
•Establish consistent rules and behavioral expectations and convey them clearly and consistently. Help children to resolve conflicts by using a problem-solving approach. Ask children open-ended questions and make suggestions to promote problem solving.
•Supervising and ensuring the safety of all children at all times
•Administering medications if necessary (given proper training)
•Completing daily attendance
•Building relationships with parents and school personnel, communicating professionally and respectfully at all times

Educational Requirements:
•Minimum 2 years of experience with school-age youth or group child care environments.
•At least two years of college education and experience working with children and young people (after school and youth-oriented programs preferred).
•At minimum, applicants must meet the DCFS guidelines for a school-age worker (30 semester hours of college credit with 6 semester hours in an educational field OR 1 year experience with 6 semester hours in an education field such as elementary education, physical education, child development, or early childhood education)

*Must pass a criminal background check and provide current medical exam including TB test
