POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Preschool Teacher will provide a developmentally
appropriate class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
ofchildren, to facilitate children’s development of communication, abilities,
attiduytes, skills, and knowledge need to provide a good foundation for future
success in school based on the Illinois Early Learning Standards; The Preschool
Teacher will build strong ties between home and school to establish good
relationsps with parents and other staff members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide learning experiences in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, social/emotional development, and other subject in accordance with the curriculum
- Develop and use instructional materials suitable for verbal or visual instruction of children with a wide range of mental, physical and emotional maturities
- Provide ongoing observation and authentic assessment of children and maintain documentation of each child’s progress and growth
- Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals, parents and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips to maintain maximum benefit from their efforts
- Cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping children solve health, attitude and learning problems
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Illinois Professional Educator License for Early Childhood/Preschool Teacher
- Experience working with young children is desired
