Opening at Indiana University, IU Northwest

CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR AND DIRECTOR OF STUDENT TEACHING & FIELD PLACEMENT

The Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Student Teaching & Field Placement shall be a faculty member of the School of Education on a 10-month contract who reports to the Dean.  This Director shall work with appropriate committee chairs, program directors, coordinators, and faculty to implement placement and supervision activities associated with the field experience components of initial licensing programs. The person in this position should have adequate professional training and experience to secure the cooperation of faculty and school personnel in carrying out the responsibilities of this office. 

   ESSENTIAL DUTIES
·                     Meeting with students, faculty, and staff to collaboratively coordinate field experiences and student teaching placements for all education programs
·                     Meeting with local school district administrators and teachers to develop and maintain university/school partnerships
·                     Traveling to local schools to conduct site visits
·                     Conducting administrative duties related to the School of Education’s record-keeping and accreditation
·                     Teaching courses, including student teaching seminars
  
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•           Master’s Degree in an Education related field
•           Standard U.S. Teaching License
•           Five (5) Years of Teaching Experience
•           Valid Driver’s License
•           Strong Communications Skills
•           Strong Teamwork Skills

   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•           Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft programs
•           Prior Experience Supervising K-12 Teachers
•           Prior Experience Supervising Student Teachers
